Salty 咸豆沙
- $1.10
The original flavour - salty mung bean fillings wrapped in crispy, flaky skin.
Some older folks know this as "pua giam di" - half salty-half sweet in Hokkien. Why is that? Rumour has it that original was always sweet until someone wanted to play a prank and put salt instead. And the prank backfired as it became a very tasty treat as well! Savour it with your local SG kopi or atas coffee.
The piah is 素 (vegetarian) and vegan friendly - no animal derived products are used and no onions added.
Contains mung beans, sesame and vetegable oil.
Deliciously and handmade without the use of butter, eggs, pork lard, onions, milk.
Tau sar piah is best eaten on the day of purchase.
If somehow you didn't finish it, the piah can be kept for a week - there's no need to put it in the fridge.
You may want to reheat it in an oven toaster or airfryer at 160 degrees Celsius for about 2 mins before eating, just to help refresh the feeling of the warm crispy pastry and tasty fillings.
